Faces to Canadian War Graves Groesbeek Foundation
Faces to Graves hopes to recognize every soldier buried at Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery with a story of their life so they will never be forgotten. These photos and stories will be displayed in a Digital Monument (online).
In May 2021, these soldiers’ photos and stories will appear on plaques at each grave during a special two-week event called The Faces of Groesbeek.
The Foundation is currently searching for photos and information about these soldiers. If you can assist or have an interest in volunteering with research, writing, editing, or translating (French Canadian to English), please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
Canadian Walk for Veterans
The Canadian Walk for Veterans (CWFV) is an opportunity for Canadians to walk shoulder to shoulder with veterans, current-serving Canadian Armed Forces members, and first-responders, learn about the challenges they face, and thank them for their contributions to Canada.
CWFV also raises funds for related support and awareness programs.
The Dutch Liberation 2021 Canadian Society
The Dutch Liberation 2021 Canadian Society is working with the BC/Yukon Command of the Royal Canadian Legion and members of various Dutch organizations in the BC Lower Mainland.
The Society’s purpose is to commemorate the 75th+1 Anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands and to honour Canadian soldiers who helped the Dutch re-establish freedom in 1945.
The Society is currently promoting the sale of red "Canadian Liberator tulips" with the goal of colouring all Canadian provinces with tulips in May 2021. Commemorative services in May 2021 will also be hosted in various locations throughout BC and across Canada.
